fig thyme moscow mule

Fruity, fizzy, fun…Fig Thyme Mule. A sweet and wintry version of the classic featuring fig butter, sprigs of fresh thyme, and all of the ginger beer you please shaken with vodka. Better “all the ginger beer you please” than “all the vodka you please.” That might be troublesome.

Vodka and I share a volatile relationship. Ciroc was my college self’s experimental poison when I wanted to know my alcohol limits – at the time, it was 7 shots, FYI. Now I’d imagine I’d be wholly useless after 2. Since then I hadn’t much touched anything containing vodka, but I think we’re stitching our torn seams slowly. Vodka, I’m learning, boasts many non-trashy uses, including as the base for the Moscow Mule. And, hencewise, this Moscow Mule.

Who’s watching the Super Bowl in a couple weeks? If you want to offer something up aside from the standard bottle of gameday beer, make this mule. Refreshing on the tastebuds, just different enough to raise eyebrows but not so different that eyebrows fall off.
